I Once Saw an Apparition

This is an artististic rendition of what I saw in a house one day. The home belonged to one of my mother’s patients (my mom worked in nursing before retiring) and sat in Jonesborough historic district accross from the town’s funeral home. My mom had asked me sit in the lady’s conservatory and wait for her. As I sat in the dimly lit room, a whispy white column of light floated out from the wall into the center of the room. It hovered there, just shimmering. I didn’t know what I was seeing at the time, and stood up to approach it for a closer instepection (I thought it must be gas, smoke, or a reflection). It retreated from me and passed through the door into the hallway. I followed it to the door and watched as it floated down the hallway and dissapeared into the living room. True story. My brother, who had lived as a resident of the house’s downstairs (along with his wife) had also reported seeing a "white light" pass through the basement apartment.
